Tree id help please.

Hi can anyone identify this for me please, pretty non descript looking thing only thing I can say about it is that it has long furry catkin type things on it in the spring time.

I have a miniature weeping willow and the leaves are the same and we get catkins.

Not sure if it's a willow.... grows straight up and is more of a weed than a tree! I get loads grow in my garden and normally cut them down, this one has grown around 12 feet in 10 years.
I'm trying to find out if it's parrot safe so need a pretty accurate id :0/

If you look carefully you can see Dave [the parrot] waiting on the garden swing to see if it's safe lol

Reading the leaf description was the clincher as they have a velvety underside, so brownie points and many thanks to you!

It's a bog standard Willow...probably grown as a seedling.
