If someone is charged and sentenced with GBH and further down the road the victim dies, having never recovered from their injuries, can further charges be brought?

I think there is a time limit though between the attack and death of the victim - sure I read it was one year and one day.

When I said he never recovered from his injuries I should have said 'never fully recovered'
