The publication and number of the Xword is irrelevant. Calibax has got it in one assuming the the OP has inadvertently reduplicated the definite article.

cantatrice, we don't have "many publications" - most of us don't have any of the papers or magazines in front of us - but knowing which paper it's in sometimes helps to define the style of the crossword.
