I was at work, we watched it all on TV for the rest of the day. Very sad day x
I was doing some odd jobs for my niece. We'd just sat down for a cuppa and a bun when it came on the TV. At, first like most people, we thought it was just a tragic accident it was only when the second tower was hit that we realised it had been diliberate. I remember both Trish and my niece were in tears but no matter how terrible it was we couldn't stop watching.
I was in Co-op travel booking a flight, which I later cancelled.
I was at my Dads house looking after his dog, when his partner had just arrived home and she received a txt from him saying a plane had hit the world trade centre, we put it on sky news... we just watched, shocked, obviously not knowing it was a terrorist attack.
I was a school caretaker working a split shift and just about to go back to work at 3.15pm when I saw the second plane hit the tower.
It was mind boggling.
I had been for lunch with an old friend who got in touch via Friends REunited (colleagues said I should be careful as I hadn't seen him for 30years, but he was OK). On returning to work the girls on reception said that a plane had just flown into one of the twin towers and we thought it was a terrible accident. Then the second plane hit and we realised it must be deliberate.
I worked for a computer design company and we watched it on our PC's then a TV was put in. An american colleague couldn't bear to watch, then the towers collapsed and we all went home.
I was at the office and a colleague's daughter rang and told us what had happened ..... a terrible moment.
watching it all unfold on the news. then rushed to the phone to ring the o/h at work to tell him to put the office tv on.
I had gone to visit a friend at Manor Park near London, and we chatted and had no tele on. Got home to my house about 3.30 and hubbie said that my sister from Aussie had rang us and said "Quick, put tele on" so I arrived home knowing nothing about this awfull event , and we sat glued to sky news till just after midnight. We were in total shock and had to keep watching it. HORRENDOUS x
I was a receptionist at an American owned company here in UK and we watched it all happen on the "big screen" in Reception. The Head of the whole multi national company was over from Washington that day and he stood with me almost in tears and quite hysterical while we watched the tragedy unfold ....... he was so worried as he had friends in the Pentagon. For the next hour everyone stopped work and gathered in Reception in front of the TV.
i just watched it all day and into the night, not believing what i was seeing.
Strange to think i had dined in one of the most spectacular restaurants at the top of the WTC some years before. To see both buildings come down was like some terrible nightmare.
Just got in from doing my Tesco shop and put the radio on, didn't beleive it put on the the tv just before the second plane hit. Didn't move from the tv for the rest of the day.
I was at primary school... The headteacher came into the classroom to tell us and I can remember thinking it was a big deal but I had no idea what the twin towers were. It wasn't until I got home that day that I realised how big it was :|
I was at school and i went home for lunch! My dad was perched on the couch- literally edge of his seat, remote controll in hand in total disbelief !!!

I kind of didnt get how serious it was at the time - x
I was at my desk working from home and one of the girls from the head office rang and said "look at cnn now" I just watched in horror and didn't do a thing all day.
I was on the phone to a nursing home taking their order for supplies when the matron told me what was happening as it was on the televsion in the home
