Can anyone tell me what happened to the Thatcher T-shirt thread please?

I used an emotive word - retard, because I felt it appropriate to the sort of backward thinking of anyone who glorifies in the death of the elderly. It was in no way a reflection on mental illness, in fact the term retard would never be used by myself when referring to people of disability.

True. I can't argue with that.
Wouldn' t like to man the complaints department though. ;)

Loth though I am to say it, Ellipsis is quite right. Retard (with the stress on the last syllable) is a perfectly acceptable verb. As a noun, with the stress on the first syllable it has no meaning other than that conveyed by American slang, loosely depicting a mentally deficient person.
Two points Mike,
I had stress on neither syllable.
I am not a Yank.

"Two points Mike,
I had stress on neither syllable (are you for real? The only people who go around uttering polysyllabic words without any stress as to denote their function are zombies from the realms of movie fiction, in my experience).
I am not a Yank. (Well, better luck next time with your resits).

I bow to your experience but, as it was written, how could I have? Perhaps you can ask the zombies?

I passed eleven out of twelve, why would I resit? I'll try again, but I'll make it simpler for you this time; I am not American
