I don't have any details re the number of letters in the answer to each clue, but hope someone can put me on the right track.

Girl in French is fille but I was thinking short girl in France could be Fran. I've gone through list of white goods makers but can't find anything to add on to fran so i'm probably on the wrong track.

Hi quinie, it was a bit of a shot in the dark to be honest. I thought of belling first and then the only thing I could add was la, signifying, as you say the feminine gender.

Hello, still trying to find an answer for (b). There is a wine theme to thiz quiz. I have been looking at the "french girl" one for ages, but still can't come up with anything. So any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Chox.
