Don`t buy Nice n Easy foam hair dye in medium ash brown if you want medium ash brown hair. In fact keep walking and don`t even look at it.
If you want jet bl00dy black hair then go ahead and buy Nice n Easy foam hair dye in medium ash brown and you`ll find it`ll do the trick perfectly!

My hair NEVER comes out the colour on the packet.

Bit of a lucky dip really when it comes to it.
You have my sympathies, I've been there myself with hair coloured a completely different colour to what I expected. :(
Ooops
I can add one. Don't buy Casting in any chestnut/auburn shade if you have dark brown hair and want a temporary lift unless you also want black hair. I was horrified.
I think it depends on what shade your hair is to start with. I'd like to be light
brown, but I leave it on longer or it don't cover the grey. And I usually end up dark brown. To get it done in a hairdressers is £50+.
Mine always end up with a hint of red no matter what colour I use.
I have to go to the hairdressers, I have (or had) red hair, and no matter what colour I tried the grey at the sides always ended up purple!!
I use Wilko's own brand and it is fabulous, and less than £2
It's obviously easier if someone else does your hair. You obviously put the colour on your grey hairs first but unless you can swivel your head that is blimmin impossible to do yourself to perfection.
