Why do people do....

Feel the need to always talk about themselves in conversations...

whether I over hear or am involved in a conversation all I hear is "I did, I went, Once I" I mean for godsake conversation is dead these days it's about listening, giving and taking...

I find this happens alot with my OH she rambles on about what she has going on and I think sometimes forgets we are actually together because we are a couple and two people who got together for a reason, rather than me just being someone to rattle off to.
It's not just her though people I meet at work I ask how was your weekend and they go on and on and then never return the question...it's always about them.

its natural for people to want to talk about themselves, there is nothing wrong with it, the problem is not having the ability to listen and maintain an interest in someone else's concerns
