The falling leaves drift by my window
The falling leaves of red and gold...
A sure sign that winter's on its way. When do the clocks go forward?

The way that it feels this morning maybe the logo should have ice and snow.

I'll have to have a search for my scarf and gloves.
Incidentally, don't put your clock
forward. ' Fall Back- Spring Forward'.
sandy, falling leaves are a sign that autumn is here....Autumn starts next week and Winter starts 3 months later in December...clocks go back 28th October...;-)

"Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" as someone once said :-)
sandy just think " spring forward and fall back" then you will remember which way the clocks go,hate the cold dark nights and bleak dark mornings.
My fav places to be in Autumn, - Yorke Arms in Nidderdal http://www.yorke-arms.co.uk/

(ii) Peat Inn, Fife

(iii) Aux Armes de Champagne http://www.aux-armes-...ux-armes-de-champagne

It's those cold mornings and dusks that make it for me.....
Yep, I quite like Autumn, reminds me of when I was a kid, Blackberry picking and scrumping apples and pears lol.
Homemade blackberry and apple pies and crumbles. Ive still got loads of blackberries in the freezer from last year.
It's December in Falkirk because this is winter weather.
I can understand several people giving the same answer to a cross-word or whatever in a short space of time. Or even in a long thread giving somewhat similar answers.
But when there's only one answer ie.mine why would the next two posters repeat what I said a half hour & then an hour and half later. I'm not complaining here (no abuse please) just curious. Do some people read the heading then fire of an answer without bothering to read the existing posts? This is a genuine question thank-you.

Probably just read the question and not bother looking to see if there are already other answers
yes, the talesin, they do - sometimes it's days later.

Sandy - gee thanks, I've haven't had my summer holiday yet :-(
Mine's The Sportsmans in Wath, DT, just down the road from the Yorke Arms. Beautiful round there this time of year even more so than usual. Prices at the YA are a bit out of my league. The Sportsman isn't cheap but I love where it sits and the tiny ancient pretty wee bridge nearby. And the food's good. Oo I want to get in my car now and go up for the Nidderdale Show.
I love autumn, my favourite season.
I love a crisp Autumn morning, I love kicking my way through the leaves when out walking my dog and I love the feel of Autumn in the air - definitely my favourite season, even if it does herald in winter ......

Boxtops, if you could go somewhere sunny for a holiday during one of our dreary autumns you'd appreciate all the more.
ps, it wasn't me that put the autumnal leaves at the top of the page :-)
The Sportsman is a nice pad, ladybirder, will endorse that!

Have you seen your Italian dinner thread, chapta.... a little ode for you!
