The Defence Secretary, Philip Hammond, declares on BBC's Newsnight that Prince Harry is definitely in Afghanistan and was at Camp Bastion during the recent storming of it by 'insurgents', and that he was then 'moved'.

Hammond adds fuel to the fire by - of course - deliberately refusing to disclose any further details. Quel surpris!

Is this all an elaborate governmental ruse to try and fool the Taliban into thinking that 'His Royal Harryness' is where they - the Taliban - would like to believe he was, when in actual fact he's possibly not even in the country?

Finally, is it said to make us believe that Harry is indeed out there amongst the muck and bullets in just as much danger as any other squaddie?

Surely no one in their right mind doubted he was not there.

Kero claims to be ex-services, but surely it is ludicrous to suggest that within the service 'family' word would not filter back to Blighty if Harry's deployment was just a PR stunt.

Everyone serving in Bastion must know where he is (or isn't) and will be pestered by calls from home; 'have you seen him yet?'

Zeuhl - of course he's ther, just as Andrew was in the Falklands. As he is not a direct heir to the throne he would not be spared frontline service. William on the other hand is a direct heir and is doing service in another branch - Air Sea Rescue - oh and yes he is - i've seen him!!

Nowhere did I say they couldn't, I was merely pointing out that he does not pilot the aircraft, his job while in Afghanistan is in the capacity of a co-pilot/gunner, for which he is trained, and also came top in his class in that very role.
