I've at last had a ankle brachial pressure index (ABPI/ABI) check yesterday. Right arm bp was 150 [only one of the two readings are used] in left leg it was 152 in right leg it was 90. The nurse thought it should be followed up asap with a Vascular surgeon. Doc's appt for next week - GP said to nurse yesterday he'd treat it conventionally, at first.
Should I push him on this?
Any ideas please, I don't want this to drag on. Thanks

You certainly have a reduced blood flow to your right leg.

For this you will need an angiogram.......injection of due into the arteries ( no big deal) to delineate the vessels.

If, one or all are significantly blocked then you will be offered a vein graft OR an autologous arterial graft ( a bit of your own artery.
IF this be the case, don' t worry as about 80% of these grafts will last you 10 years.

Your blood sugar will be checked, you cholesterol and any deviation form the norm will be dealt with.

Unless you are very worried, I wouldn't go privately as 6 weeks seems reasonable ( but not for me).

The above post makes a lot of assumptions.........forgive me.

Keep me informed.
