gift for young photographer
8 Answers
my friend's son took lots of snaps at our recent anniversary party.
He is only 14 but has a decent camera and really enjoyd dong it.
He has sent me almost 100 pics - all really really good - he definitely caught the atmosphere.
i want to get him a gift to say thank you, but don't know what I could get.
Any ideas?

Find out what camera he has and if the front of the lens has a thread and if so, what size it is - then go on Amazon and buy him a set of filters (eg. skylight/circular polariser/neutral density). I also agree re Gorillapod.
More memory (eg. SD card) pref rather large - 30 quid should get him something over 16 gig.

find out what camera he has you can get proper printers for pretty much all cameras now, they are quicker and easier than uploading to computer to print off you just insert the memory card into the printer press print and ta da. Quick and easy and you can get them fairly cheap if its not a top of the range camera..
If the lens is interchangeable-consider a 'reversal' ring for the particular model of camera as this allows you to reconnect the lens ''front-to-back" which provides great magnification for close-ups. This will also provide valuable experience as you have to use the camera in 'manual' mode.
