very heavy smoker and it stinks of cigarette smoke
I bought a new to me oven from a friend's mum. The whole family are heavy smokers but a sit had been sitting in the garage I didn't give it a 2 nd thought with regard to something made of a metal smelling like an old ash tray.
The oven is lovely, really worth the money I paid
Is there anything I can clean it with to get rid of the smell?
It's on the inside of the oven as well as the outside - so far I've tried Flash but it didn't work
TIA - I'm off to work in a mo and hopefully someone will have an answer for me when I return

Once you start doing your own thing the smell will become that of you and yours.
Friends of ours who used to foster had a similar experience with new kids - they reckoned on a couple of good meals, a few baths and clothes changes and a few good dumps and then the kids were indistinguishable.
Everyone and every home has its own smell - it's just a big sickening when its ingrained fag-ash.

I can believe this. My relatives (heavy smokers) brought me a gift back from their holidays (a night shirt).
It was obviously packed in a case with their own clothes, and despite washing it several times and rinsing it in lovely-smelling fabric conditioner, the smell of the smoke just won't come out.
Cigarette smoke has a very pungent smell. Smokers get used to the smell and probably don't notice it, but it permeates through fabrics and is very hard to shift.
Now if I were a smoker reading this, I'd think the writer was over-reacting or one of the anti-smoking brigade. I'm neither.

thanks windy and bednobs
I was as surprised as anyone to find it smelling like this
It's a lovely cooker and for £150 I am so much more than pleased with it. It's less than a year old as well
It may well need another clean after the one it has just had but it is smelling much sweeter right now thanks to a combination of lemons, soda crystals and bicarb :)
