It was backcombed - similar to mine how I styled it in the 1960s :) perhaps that style is coming back in fashion (perish the thought!) :))

She was on a programme with Gayle Hunnicut and Angela Rippon a while ago and she looked a bit untidy besides the other two, who always look immaculate.Wasn't Julia the one who had to quit being a newsreader when she had a brain tumour or something like that?

I have always liked JS as a newsreader, and yes I had forgotten about the brain tumour ............ I like most of the female newsreaders except Sian, I tend to watch them on the news to see what fashions they are wearing and their jewellery. Often I like their jacket or top and wish I knew where they had bought it from!
