Sugar in Urine

I have my own urine testing strips to keep and eye when I have UTI symptoms. The last couple of days, as well as weeing a lot, hence the testing, it picked up some sugar. It's usually light blue (normal) and was green the day before yesterday and brown last night so rising.

I've had tests for diabetes lately, general and fasting glucose, which were fine and when I had a thumb prick test a few weeks ago my blood glucose was only 4.3 at the end of the day after eating so not high. So not diabetic.

From googling I'm guessing the steroids might be to blame as on oral prednislone, was on 40mg a day for a week, not on 30mg a day for a week and stepping down weekly. Could it just be them and is it safe to just leave it? On pregabalin too in case that can cause it as well.

Whenever you get an unexpected medical result......then repeat it.......monitor the situation for a week or so.

Thanks Sqad, will do. Will monitor it and if it still shows up will mention it to the practice nurse as got an appointment for my methotrexate vaccination on Monday - maybe see if she gets the same result. Was due on Thursday and sat there patiently for an hour until it transpired she's gone home and there had been an error, I think I might be too patient haha :)

methotrexate vaccination???!?!

They said I had to have a pnumococcus vaccination and have my bloods and chest xray cleared before I can start on the methotrexate. Hopefully this week, fingers crossed!

The Lyrica has been helping, though I need to faff with the doses to get the most benefit I think, good while on but the wear off is a bit harsh. Managed to get out for a bit today and see some friends which was lovely :)

Sugar seems to have been ok yesterday and today, protein up today but that tends to go up and down anyway.
