Years ago BBC TV showed Dickens' David Copperfield on Sunday evenings. The role of Barkus was played by someone that I think was called Brian (or Gordon) Gostelloe. I think he might also have played the station master in the Railway Children around the same time. Anyone out there heard of him? Or am I altogether wrong?

No mention of the name on IMDB in relation to either the railway children or the many versions of David Copperfield.

The name is Gordon Gostelow - try that spelling - and yes he did play the Station Master in the original TV series.
