Scrambling to catch the thrown bouquet?
in edinburgh, it's called a pour oot - brings back memories - kids running round the car for the coins
Question Author
'to throw money out the window' and all the kids with skinned knees trying to get a few pennies,do they still do that 'what was the tradition of that.
it's believed to bring financial luck for some reason!
Good luck for whom? When we were married we needed every penny we could get. Never mind chucking them on the ground!!!
Some years ago, we attended a wedding in Glasgow. Getting out of the car before the service, a group of youngers were hanging around, and one asked us, when we got out of the car "will there be a wee scramble afterwards. Being English, we had no idea of what they meant. However, when we returned to the cars after the wedding ceremony people threw loose coins out of the car window and the children scrambled to pick them up. It is supposed to be for goodl luck.
In spite of all this, the couple were never happy together, in fact a few days later they split up and never went back to each other. Perhaps they should have lived over the brush together for the rest of their lives. They lived together for 10 years before tying the not with no problems. Luck- what is luck.
