Why don't they make them wider further down, so that they don't catch all the loggers on the way down, is there a reason that they are narrow at the top and then open out? Would make them much easier to clean.

Actually its not really the loggers that are a problem, its more the skiddies that they leave on the way down. Thats what I really meant, if they didn't touch the sides they wouldn't leave a mark.
