zehul, we know it goes on, but somehow a 30 year old male teacher waltzing off with a 15 year should get jail time, it's more than inappropriate, foolish beyond words, where is the trust?
However old she looks, she is still only 15yrs old and in love with the idea of being in love, she'll soon tire of him. He is a silly idiot and I cannot understand why he has done this. he was in a position of trust and even though attracted to the girl, he certainly should have known better!!!
So this guy should be jailed, branded a pervert for life, left without a job or career, just because he fancied a 15 year old?!
I think being her teacher is the additional significant feature

rather like a police officer or solicitor perverting the course of justice

it's a trust issue; i suspect most parents of 15 year olds would not sit idle if they were told their child was going off and spending several hours a day in the company of the 30 year old bloke around the corner!

But we believe in good faith that waving them off to school is ok
It's just been reported on Sky News that the french are not treating the teacher as a criminal, the case is being treated as a missing person.
Just-Jude - He didn't just fancy her - he acted on it. You can fancy someone without doing anything about it. He is a complete idiot.
<the french are not treating the teacher as a criminal>

The legal age of consent may be 15 in France
