Hi, Dr found what she described as a smooth lump deep in my breast but on the side near my armpit. I have been experiencing an ache and some pain in the area for a while, and its sometimes uncomfortable to press my arm close to my body. I am 49, post menopausal & scared to death. I have an appointment at breast clinic tomorrow what should I expect?
Hi Bubbly. My lump was found at first mammo twelve years ago. Investigation was speedy and excellent.
As Sqad says I had a biopsy immediately. Painless and I was informed of everything they could tell me straight away. NFA other than regular check ups. Have many friends with harmless lumps. You will worry even if I say don't so keep us updated.
Love Gx
Found lumps twice now, had two mammograms and two ultrasounds, the lumps were/are breast tissue and apparently there are plenty more in there that I can't feel. Try not to worry (easier said than done) until you're told there's something to worry about, which there probably isn't. Good luck xx
I know just how you feel. I was at the breast clinic last week and had a mammo and ultrasound. There are 2 solid masses showing on the ultrasound. I had 2 fine needle biopsies that didn't show any cancer cells but the doctor wants to do a core biopsy on thursday just to be certain. Fine needle biopsy is easy. Everyone says not to worry but its impossible not to. I won't be happy until the doctor says i have the all clear. Hope all goes well for you tomorrow.
Thank you everyone. I went for my tests today and everything was clear, just fatty breast tissue apparently, and the same with the lump under my arm, and the pain when the Dr pressed to the side of the breast is actually rib pain from an old injury. I feel a bit silly now, however he said I'd done the right thing given my family history. I wish you well GSD, let us know how you are. Thank you all again. x
bubbly im glad you got some good news today. You must be so relieved. I have my biopsy tomorrow then I have to wait another week for results. I think the fact that they did two fine needle biopsies and didn't find any cancer is encouraging. Im just trying to stay positive.
