Know this should be in Body and Soul - but put it here cos there are more postings. I did have a recall with this breast at the beginning of the year so that is why I am a little worried. However, I did put breast pain at top icon and have been reassured in that I am suffering a lot of pain in my left breast earlier on and tonight I can feel a lump - feels like a person came up to me and gave me one hell of a dig in the breast. So bruised. However, reviewing all the other posters I will calm down and give it a day or so. Like everybody else it takes 2 weeks to get an appointment with your dr. night night everybody else.

elvis you are worrying me but if this doesn't calm down on Monday I will make an appointment. Thanks for your concern.
Usually breast pain with a lump is down to a cyst, I suffered with these for years. However, if you are worried ring your GP, mention breast lump and I'll bet you get seen the same day.........
You do not wait two weeks for an appointment for this. Monday. Make a fuss. I am away for a while but I don't want to come back and find you have waited two weeks.
Probably, with the pain, it's harmless but you mustn't wait two weeks. Okay?
Gx
Elvis is advising not trying to worry you. As Craft says, usually a cyst, but don't wait.
I rang my doctors on a Monday morning when I found a lump (no pain), and was told no appointments, mentioned breast lump and I was in there for the evening surgery. Hospital rang me Wednesday to say my appointment was Friday at 2pm. Had a needle biopsy, scan, and ultrasound, given the all clear by 4:30 Friday afternoon.
Can only echo what everyone else says, Conne.....will most likely be nothing to worry about, but please don't wait two weeks to be seen.
Almost certainly not a life threatening situation and extremely unlikely to be due to malignant disease.
As far as the problem is concerned, 2 weeks is not unreasonable, but as far as your mental state is concerned I can understand your concern.
Conne - a few weeks ago I was in a state too, I had a dreadful spasm type pain (no lump though) in one of mine, but thanks to all ther kind ABers I was reassured not to panic. As Dr Sqad has commented, please take note of what he says but if the lump is there, make an appointment on Monday and tell the receptionist why it is so urgent. I have read though, that the majority of lumps due to breast cancer do not cause pain, so it probably is a painful cyst. Thinking of you x

thanks everybody for your kind answers. Looking at it today it seems to be on fire ie red around the nipple and around it. There are so many of my friends that are so ill with cancer you just automatically assume one has it.
Sounds just like an infection Conne ......... please don't worry. Is there not a walk-in NHS centre you could pop in today? You probably need antibiotics?
Having had treatment for breast cancer can I please also reassure you that this just doesn't sound like it. My lump had no pain whatsoever.
Mention that it's in your breast on Monday and you will be seen very quickly. It does sound like just a cyst though.
Good luck.
