I'm coming to the UK soon and will bring my new Toshiba laptop and would like to watch some programmes on BBC iplayer. I don't want to watch live TV - and understand that this is anyway illegal without a licence. How do I do this please, and will I need any special equipment.

As far as I'm aware, if you are staying with friends/family or an hotel which already has a TV (and presumably is licenced) you'll be fine.
You will, of course need an internet connection.
Please bring some nice weather with you.

Would a 'Freeview tuner stick' such as this connect me to iplayer Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
If you only want already broadcast programmes on iplayer all you need is an internet connection and log on to the iplayer web site. You can then watch anything listed there. Do not watch any live programmes unless you are in a hotel or someones property who has a television license
no a freeview stick would'nt get you iplayer as ubasses said just an internet connection is all you need
