parakeets dwindling

Less of them but they're on the plum trees. How can I tempt them to feed & secure them into shed. I've put out nuts but the squirrels eat them.

not sure why you want to catch them? what will you do with them? Being captured will be very stressful, they are wild birds.

To answer your original question on the other thread:
Yes, they survive free. They're breeding all over country. (There are whole flocks of them in Dartford's Central Park, and I've seen plenty elsewhere - we've even got Amazon parrots breeding here in Suffolk!).

While they're obviously an invasive species, other birds seem to cope well with the competition, so it would seem cruel to try to capture them.

they may just be moving on.... they will travel fair distances to find food...
