I was told that I should have cut my Buddleia back about a month ago. But it's still flowering; should I leave it until it stops flowering or cut it back anyway?

Cut it right down towards the end of March each year
Agreed. The only reason for doing it earlier would be if it is very large and exposed, when you could halve the height to prevent wind damage.

So should I cut it back now even though it's still flowering, or leave it until next March?
Leave it until next spring.
I leave it through the winter for the birds and insects to chomp. Once the frosts have stopped next year I'll hack it all down, and back it leaps regardless.
We cut ours down every autumn (we'll be pruning in this coming week), then again in early spring, they come back as normal every year.
