goldfish symptoms

our goldfish is having difficulty swimming and lies on his side on the bottom of the tank. breathing is very slow - no skin disorders that are visible e.g. ulcers

there does not seem to be enough air in the water your fish is swimming in, if he lives in a tank/bowl without a filter the water should be changed every day.

If your fish is swimming lopsided it could be a swim bladder problem, sometimes they get over it but more often than not they don't. It could be lack of oxygen in the water and a filter is a good idea. If the tank is too small for a filter/pump, then buy some oxygenating plant ie Elodea.

You could try some aquarium salt in the water. It helps with buoyancy. Also starve it for a day and then feed it with defrosted peas with the shell taken off.
