I remember the drops on the left and I think you can still get them. The penny sweets I used to get when I was a kid were cola cubes, pear drops, aniseed balls, cola bottles wich were sour and milk bottles. This was late '70s, early '80s. They were probably around before.
Oh yes, I think the coloured sweets are fruit or sherbet pips. We ate them in class at school 'cos they were so small the teacher couldn't tell you were eating....until you dropped them and they bounced all over the floor. :)
Robinia, thank you!! I've been scratching my head trying to think of their name!
(Got splinters now)
I fondly remember penny caramels and flying saucers.
Ah yes, thats it, sherbet pips. I used to get flying saucers and sherbet dips as well. And chocolate Galaxy Counters in a little white bag with an animal on the front.
I can remember way too many sweets...probably why I've got a mouth full of fillings now.
Glees...life savers....chocstix...fry's five boys...fry's five centres...midget gems...mo-jo's...black jacks...fruit salads...swizzels lollies...refreshers...anglo bubbly....anyone remeber ovaltine chocolate?
Hi Robina we used to get Ovaltine Tablets and Horlicks Tablets. Now you got me looking in the supermarkets but we have one of those old fashioned sweet shops not long opened in town so will have a look there to see what they do next time I go town.
We used yo get PK chewing gum out of a machine and if the turning handle's arrow was facing forward, you got an extra packet. Now who else can remember that?
