We were in a cafe and a young woman with her baby were at the next table, she was covered in tattoos across her chest and shoulders and down to her elbows, they looked quite awful, sad to think that she was quite nice looking but a lot of her skin on show was spoiled for life.
Himself did raise the suggestion of having the kids names tattooed on himself but changed his mind when we got to five children (daft sod is far too old to start having tattoos). I don't mind either way, never fancied one myself but I am so unartistic and I don't like needles.
At school in the early 60s we must have invented the tattoo. I throw my hands up in horror at how stupid this is (not to say dangerous!) but we scratched the name of the boy we "loved" on our arm with a compass point and when it scabbed over we were very proud to display it ................. I used to have to hide it from my very strict parents!
Am totally with boxtops on this. Up to the individual, but I think they are ugly and unfeminine. Was looking at Hello magazine in the hairdressers - Kim Marsh's wedding. Beautiful wedding dress, lovely looking girl, totally ruined by an ugly tatoo on her arm.
Am very cool myself - no piercings, no tatoos, no nothing....................
