Karlsruhe Furniture Dump
Good evening
We stayed in Karlsruhe on Sunday in the Acora hotel on Sophienstrasse
When we arrived there was furniture, wrecked and intact, piled up on every street corner with people poking around in it and taking away bits and pieces
When we left on Monday morning it seemed like every dust cart in the city was in the street clearing it all
Does anyone know what it was, is it a regular organised thing or just some spontaneous clearout?
Thanks in advance

I think it's a great idea which is probably why we don't do it in UK where the thinking seems to be to make it hard or expensive for people to get rid of stuff and then act surprised when it gets fly tipped in a beauty-spot
Another reason to love Germany, The Netherlands and the Czech Rep.
