Why can I not delete pics on ipad 3?
While attempting to sync my new ipad3 with my computer a lot of photos were transferred to the ipad from the computer. I want to delete a lot of them.
The photos on my ipad that were actually taken with the ipad can be removed by tapping the screen and putting them in the bin shown at the top. The photos that were transferred from the computer and not taken by the ipad do not give me this facility. Anyone know how to delete them please?

Pictures that you transfer via iTunes may only be deleted via iTunes, either remove the pictures from the folder on your computer that you have told iTunes to sync with your iPad or switch off photo syncing entirely.
When your iPad is attached to iTunes click on it in the left hand column and you should then get the window which allows you to control what is synced, one of the tabs is photos, click on that and it should tell you which photo folder on your computer is syncing with the ipad, once found proceed as in my previous.

• It's VERY easy! Create a new folder on your desktop by right clicking, choose New, then Folder. You don't even have to rename it.
Go to iTunes, and in the left panel, click on your device - your iPad. A summary page will come up. Click on "Photos" at the end of the list going across the top of the page. Then, where it is designating your "sych" folder, click on Browse, go to your desktop and choose the empty folder you just created. It will say do you want to overwrite the contents? Click YES, and your photos will be removed from your iPad!!
Good luck, and I hope this helps!
