Then why would she go to the Police? That is the ladt place she would go.
// From the date of birth and the information she has given us so far, we believe she was snatched on the streets of Banjul, Gambia. //
Sounds like the Police have corroberated her story at the Gambian end.
Hopefully she will be re-united with her family and everyone will be happy, even AOG.

Luckily for this young lady she's been unaware of her whereabouts these last three years and should therefore slot easily back into family life in Gambia without any problem, say, by Thursday at the latest
Gambian police will also be relieved to have a missing persons case closed, no doubt.
Everybody wins.

/// Yes, the girl is obviously a mastermind, this is the most cunning plan ever. ///
Get real don't you realise it is not the girl who has made up the plan, but someone that wants her settled into this country.
Regarding the Gambian police wishing to close their file on a missing person, does one seriously think they even know or care that there is a missing waif from off their streets.

/// It must have been a massive shock finding herself in England, her parents will be so happy that she's been found. ///
/// Hopefully she'll be given a British passport, the ordeal of starting a new life back in Gambia would be too much for her. ///
If they will be happy that she has been found, how come it will be best for her to be given a British passport and allowed to stay here, surely it will be best for her to be reunited with her parents in Gambia?
Unless of course you are suggesting that she is made a British citizen, so that she can then send for her parents along with any other relatives?

I'm sure Just Jude is thinking of the 'greater good' giving her a passport would bring about.
She would bring all the family over to be with her, they would all get jobs and pay tax and national insurance, the local economy would benifit, the UK would benifit and we would all live happily ever after.
OR not!
