Enjoy watching Countdown (mainly solving the numbers games) but Nick Hewer simply doesn't work as the host for me

He spent all this week licking Ranulph Fiennes @r$e, so much so it almost became the Ranulph Fiennes show (telling his oh-so-boring 'I went on this expedition, I climbed that peak' stories)

I really like Nick Hewer. Brilliant dry sense of humour - but totally useless of countdown. I agree it doesn't work at all.

I like Nick Hewer on Countdown, he has a very dry sense of humour. Susie Dent's origins of words can't really be described as patronising, I find it interesting to learn something new.
