I've got the place it ended up and know to highlight that! AND have found the "object"....................... just unsure of what to do with the "object". It clearly involves blank cells, but removing the object does not leave me with real words!!

Head scratching and hoping the penny will drop soon (or that I'll get a helpful nudge!)

I was over-thinking it neveracrossword. It's the obvious line from the verse........it ends up along the bottom line after doing what the verse says. Hope that helps.

Thanks, voulez-vous. What I had (before I started panicking about 'removing letters') was a nice little sort of diagram. It began at 35 A, worked its way up - filling in 6 letters in the row with 27 A, then worked its way back down again,ending in the bottom right-hand cell. Am I anywhere near with this?

That's right. Now remove most of it and replace bottom row letters with what you have removed.
