tablet and downloading films?

thinking of getting a tablet for the family,if we go away id like to be able to watch some films,shows for my son,im presuming i download from my netbook to a memory stick thn put this in the tablet?!ive never downloaded anything before so have no idea if this is right?and which sites are safe to do this?just dont want to take dvd player and dvds with us when away.

Not all tablets had got a USB slot to put in a memory stick.

Seems a bit convoluted, why not just download then to the tablet, direct?

will there be wnough memory for me to do this?!i am only looking at cheap ones and nit great at techi stuff? i had thought of this but werent sure ...
