Like he was contrite when he was unfaithful to Cheryl?

Like he was contrite when he texted photos of his willy to loads of women?

Like he was contrite when he "accidentally" shot someone with an air rifle?

I love it when these rich kids apologise - the language they use is obviously not theirs.

Wayne Rooney in particular gets amazingly eloquent when issuing a statement.

The whole thing is depressingly predictable:

Uninitelligent footballer posts offensive remark
Mass outrage
Apology issued with the plea that it was a "spur of the moment" thing. (Really? On Twitter? No! And there we all were thinking Professor Cole had spent days honing his anger to linguistic perfection)
Apology accepted gracefully of course and no action taken - certainly not a ban as we need him to play football for us.
