niya ladybird. I expect it's difficult for people to give a comparison to be able to say what brand is best, as most people don't try out more than 1
Our mattress has a 3 inch topper, we find it very comfortable.
I dislike memory foam but would think that there would not be a lot of difference between memory foam toppers of the same thickness.
Memory foam mattresses, however...different altogether (Which? have just tested them - who would have thought that Tempur would be one of the worst?).
we bought a memory mattress.which was 3"inches of memory foam + 3" of standard foam, its very good but one problem is that even at 6" thickness thats not enough for fitted sheets to fit correctly 8" would have been better

Don't do it. Spent a fortune on a new bed with memory foam topped matress two years ago and haven't had one decent nights sleep since, apart from several on the floor.
