Problem with Word layout

I recently cut and pasted into Word an article that was in two columns. Now, when I try to print the whole document, it all appears in two-column format, and I can't see how to change it. Have tried cutting and pasting the whole thing into a new document, with the same result.
I tried the Help option, which told me that my version of Word (apparently Word 2002) does not support the Office Agent. I'm running Windows 7.

Is there a way of changing the two-column format back into normal view? (I've tried every option I can find on the toolbar). And should I upgrade to a newer version of Word; if so, which one and how much will it cost me?

No I don't think so. It was sent to me as an email attachment.
Just select format > columns and set the document to be one column.
After pasting into Word save the new document as plain text.
Word 2002, eh? That takes me back! Can't remember off the top of my head how to do columns in that version, but luckily: http://www.google.co....rceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Oh... I get you...

If the original wasn't in word then all you can do is copy each half line in order and paste it into word.

Many thanks all of you. I tried Chuck's solution first as it was the earliest answer, and it has worked fine.
Should I upgrade to a newer version (or should I stick to Word 2002 and keep MarkRae happy in Nostalgialand?)
if 2002 does everything you need there's no real reason to upgrade it.
