commoner, must have been one of the few that did, i knew any number of former POW's who didn't make it to a great age, one had stomach problems then finally cancer, they reckon as a direct result of the privations of camp life

Good morning all from a dull wet Notts, the sky looks full of rain but at least it's only drizzle at the moment, not the torrent we had during the night.Still we've nothing planned for the day so it can do what it wants once I've been for the papers.

there's good gossip on the K and A on page 31 of Private Eye's current issue over British Waterway's charity, holding shares in an outfit called Drifters Leisure Ltd and a potential conflict of interest.....

em ...he died aged 71...after years of suffering from various problems but the big C never got to him so probably that made the difference..the oldest died aged 105 after being told not to expect to get past 50....some made it..others sadly didn't....:-((
