prepare your veg etc for the steak.
cook the steak to taste; while it rests, use one glass in the bottle to deglaze the pan to make a nice sauce. Mushrooms in red wine, montéd with a tad of butter and a little cream, cracked black pepper, would be good re the hangover.

I am now craving a bacon buttie with brown sauce on white bread. I have none of those in the house. :-(
I am also thinking steak & frites, bearnaise sauce and a watercress salad.
Trouble is I don't have any of those components apart from the steak. And I don't think I'd be safe cooking frites in my delicate state!
