Can't you download google map separately and use both.
Are there no features on iOS 6 worth keeping rather than
trying to revert to the previous operating system ?

Not yet you can't - Google don't currently have a maps app fro IOS.

Another ecstatic Apple victim :-)
Rojash - Thanks for that it's answered my question and saved me 2.5 GB of valuable space on my cluttered iPhone.

I'm bloody furious, i've not had any complaints with Apple products before but thus is ridonculous. I want ios5 back!

Thanks for your responses.
Have you noticed they replaced Youtube with a clock too.
youtube is in the app store.
google have apparently submitted a map/streetview app to apple, subject to acceptance of course..
Oh and that clock in IOS6 is a blatant rip off.

can anyone log in to the youtube app? I find it keeps kicking me out.
I can log in on any other device other than an Ios6 one!
Download the Google Earth app. That has google maps.

Or use google maps in the browser and bookmark it.

Rumour has it that Google will release a stand alone iOS Map ad, but it will probably contain a lot more advertising than you are used to.

Apple and Google signed a 5 year agreement in 2007 to embed Google search and Maps into iOS. That agreement has not been extended. People are assuming Apple kicked Google off, but there is no evidence of that. Google were paying a lot of money for the privilidge of being on every iOS device. Now that Android devices with Google maps and search are more previlent, Google may have decided not to pay Apple anymore. Also, a standalone search and map app can have more adverising (how Google makes its money) that it will not have to share with Apple. Or Google may not release a map app for iOS, and anyone who wants decent maps on their smartphone will buy a Android phone instead of an iPhone.
you can bookmark google maps as well and save it to the home screen..however I think its "street view" that is missed more :/
I have both map apps on my iPad! Google & Apple.
