It's part of a series called 'tales from europe'. I have a boxed set of videos which also includes the tinderbox, and rumpelstiltskin. Don't know if it's still available but it must be somewhere on DVD now.
When I first watched the video, I thought 'wow it's in colour!' - we only had a black & white TV when it was first shown.

Just bought a double DVD boxset of SRT and the Tinderbox - I was afraid it wouldn't be up to my memories of it but it is superb. The colour, quality, effects (for the time) really brought back my childhood. Only about �13 from play.com

I sure do remember it! The characters were all a bit OTT from what I remember. It's available on DVD now!!!
