I have a RF signal bug detector. Its range is 50MHz to 6GHz. I have noticed that even when my mobile phone is switched of and the battery removed the detector still picks up a strong signal. I should point out i know that this phone is not a bugging device. Is this normal? I've also found out it can detect my TV and radio even when there unplugged. How can this happen?

How sensitive is it? Are you sure it's not detecting, say, someone else's TV nearby?
