Are electronic cigarettes actually dangerous?

My boyfriend gave up cigarettes when he found i was pregnant as we assumed they were safe and i have just read this and it's got me worried.

What kind of dangers could these electronic cigarettes hold and is it possible as they're new and unregulated to a degree that they might find out in the future that these might cause worse diseases or something else that might surprise e-cigarettes smokers and the medical world?

There was an article in the Daily Mail a week or so ago claiming the same type of thing.
The way I understand it the government don't like the fact that they get barely any tax on ecigs and so come these scare mongering stories.
Cigarettes are known to cause cancer etc yet there is no move to ban these as the tax raised from their sale earns too much for those in power....
I use an e-cig and will continue to do so....until I get hit by a bus lol...we all gotta go sometime!

Thet are much safer than real fags but obviously not as safe as stopping totally. That link is to an artical by the European Respiratory Committee an anti tobacco group. They want a total ban on all tobacco and nicotine use.
Hi, its is still early regarding electronic cigarettes however there are a number of tests undertaken so far which prove they simply have to be better for you than traditional tobacco cigarettes. Check this article;
