Where do I start ?

My desk computer is very old and so slow now, I want to buy another but dont know where to start looking. Must be reasonable etc etc I dont need a high teck one just something to do what I need which is quite basic really, can any one give me any help ?

Thinking about it it is just a new tower I need as all other parts are still in good working condition.
