I have had an email from Amazon, inviting me to be an on-line worker.

Does anyone know what is entailed, and if this is real or a scam ?

I have copied this to Technology.

Thought that meant you work in one of their warehouses packing stuff which has been ordered online?
They employ thousands in the run up to holidays...could be wrong.
I am willing to bet it is a scam.

I can't imagine any employer trying to find staff by blindly sending e mails.
Sounds a bit like the ebay scam to me - where you are recuited to list items, take payment into your OWN account and pass the money and the buyers details to your employer who say they will send the goods. Of course, no,goods are sent, buyer complains to ebay who reclaim the money from you - and guess what you can't get in touch with your employer, so you are left out of pocket and with a bad ebay reputation.

Ask yourself this - do you shop/sell on Amazon regularly? Is it usually the .com or .co.uk or whatever country you are in website that you use?

Alternatively, contact Amazon - from within your account, don't use any contact emails or weblinks within the email, and ask them.
