thanks for comments... yet another awkward clue from the D/Record.
Could be WOKE but this would have to be in the past tense of wakened ?
I thought of DONE - e.g. the code has been activated/done ?

Surely it was Saturday's The Big One (in the Daily Record) that was/is void.
Don't know why ! everyone new the answer was Kate Adie.
There is a telephone number that you can check the answers.

I saw in Saturdays that they had put (8) letters for the Kate Adie clue instead of 4,4 but thought it would be alright .

we assume it's ok, but they made a crossword void before because of the letter count, so now we phone and check.

Does anyone else agree with me that there are too many void crosswords in the Daily Record? The price of stamps is not cheap now and it is all very well giving 2 winners this weekend but we don't get our stamp money back and have to use another stamp this Saturday.
