What nation would you say are the most punctual?

The French. "Punctuality is the politeness of Kings" and all that. The French have to be punctual. How else would they be on time for their two hour lunch breaks?

I am with the first post on this one. I have heard that a train in Japan would never ever be more than a few seconds late. If it is a minute late then the commuters would expect free train travel.

I agree with Japanese. Checking into a hotel for 2pm is 2pm not 1.50pm, you wait until it's 2pm. Shops open their doors when the clock strikes the hour and there's a ceremony leading upto it. Trains are on time and apologies if there is a delay for some reason.

I don't think it can be defined demographically. Some people are just late people. I can't stand being late but I know people who are always late. Some mates I deduct 30-60 minutes from the true time as I know they will be late. Gawd knows how they keep jobs!

I don't know about the Chinese but Singaporeans are notoriously late arrivers and don't feel any shame in it...My sister lived there for 5 years and I remember her telling me once as we were waiting at a restaurant for some locals to arrive.

The Swiss are very punctual, inbuilt clocks they have.

Alas not all Yorkshiremen are punctual, I know a lad who didn't turn up on my g'friends wedding day.

I hate being late and in fact always turn up early to avoid being late. I think it is the height of rudeness to be late for anything.
