Cologne Breweries
7 Answers
Me and MrS are going to Cologne at the end of this month and he'd really like to do a tour of a brewery. I think he wants something where he can have a taste of different beers, find out a bit about the processes involved etc. Have googled but all that seems to be on offer is a walking tour of all the different breweries with a bit of information and having to buy the drinks on the way round or just visiting the beer houses and having a look around yourself and again buying the beer. If anyone is able to find anything different it would be much appreciated!

I think what you're looking at is a whole lot of micro-breweries. The local beer is called koelsch, and very nice too, but there are loads of bars and restaurants that seem to offer lots of nice drinks.
You should also go and see the shrine of the three kings in the cathedral, and up the cathedral tower.
Sadly, Cologne itself shouldn't detain you for more than a day. I think the RAF helped get it like that.
