been to see the nurse practitioner and she has said i have tinitus but didn't say what is causing it and said i would get used to it. grrrrr so is that it? do i have to put up with this for the rest of my life?
don't be annoyed at me sqad i didn;t want to see the nurse practitioner in the first place but the receptionist said that was who i needed to see. i'll go and talk to the gp and ask for a second opinion
i don't understand why people are being patronising. i'm the one who is annoyed about seeing the nurse practitioner and didn't come away feeling i had seen the right person!
It may be the protocol in your practice that the NP sees patients with certain conditions and the GP sees others. The NP shouldn't be seeing any patients that she's not qualified and competent to see.
(and I'm not being patronising, I work with GP practices all day)
Actually, there may be a tiny gleam of hope for some tinnitus sufferers. Some ( I think US ) research has just been announced saying that there is a possible new treatment - ongoing experiments reporting some success - article in New Scientist in the last few weeks.
if it's still in at work when i go back in on friday i'll look for that article thanks, though it seems people have put up with the problem for years, i don't understand that but i'll see.
