Facebook, can I stop notifications from specific people being sent to my phone or do I have stop all notifications?

I get to many notifications from Tom Dick and Harry, can I just block notifications from Dick?

I don't know, I find I get email notifications of friends posting on some threads but not all of them, I don't get anyone else.

If you 'unfriend' Dick, or block him, then you will no longer receive notifications.

If you wish to keep him as a friend, then you are unable to stop notifications just from him.

Ok, problem solved. I just took Dick off my "best friends" list. sorted, not blocked or unfriended, I just no longer receive notifications from him.
