Just having a big blub as I watch CBS News reports on Sandy.
My brother lives on Long Island-just outside NYC.....I don't expect any news now for at least a week. I've been looking at local news reports, and a link took me to a map of power outages. Virtually all of Long Island (all 118 by 35 miles of it ) is in the dark. No power expected for 7-10 days.
Oh ****

The info was get into the basement if one was imminent but we had horses and the info was spray paint your post code on them and open all the gates so they could escape on their own-no way -I was ready to bring them through the house and down into the basement with us -thankfully a tornado never got near enough to have to try that.
I am telling myself that no news is good news...
There is almost a total blackout in their area-and it may be that way for a week....
I guess we'll know more when the worst of it has passed, and services can work on getting back to normal.
Thank you all for your good wishes...it's really appreciated.
