Just having a big blub as I watch CBS News reports on Sandy.
My brother lives on Long Island-just outside NYC.....I don't expect any news now for at least a week. I've been looking at local news reports, and a link took me to a map of power outages. Virtually all of Long Island (all 118 by 35 miles of it ) is in the dark. No power expected for 7-10 days.
Oh ****

This is the situation 6 hours ago...

time to set the goldfish free, B00.

That's a scary storm. As I recall it actually hit well south of NYC and was going inland, which ought to weaken it. Imagine if it had smashed straight into Manhattan from the Atlantic.
we used to live in a 'Tornado belt' in North America and often had warnings come on the TV . The info was get into the basement if one was imminent but we had horses and the info was spray paint your post code on them and open all the gates so they could escape on their own-no way -I was ready to bring them through the house and down into the basement with us -thankfully a tornado never got near enough to have to try that.
Boo, growing up in the forces the amount of bomb scares that we got was scarey and each time we had to leave the house - after the 4th or 5th we started refusing because it meant leaving the cats and dogs behind.

Dad used to get a right rollocking from the CO!!!
Thinking of you and your family pasta, I hope you hear from them soon xx
